The Freedom Principle- Taking place at the Institute of Contemporary Art until March, the show focuses on African-American culture and its influence on music in the late 1960s. The exploratory and educational show is followed up an improv performance that uses music and dance from the era.
Midtown Village Fall Festival- For the past 11 years, the Midtown Village Fall Festival has biggest annual street festivals. This year will be no different featuring live music, local food, drinks, vendors and more all along 13th street in Center City on October 1st.
Roxtoberfest- Oktoberfest in Roxborough takes place on October 1st with dozens of drink and food options between Lyceum and Leverington, there are plenty of activities for children as well. PHeaSt- On October 7th, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society hosts its culinary event for the fifth consecutive year. Showcasing their garden-to-table menu, PHS sources ingredients from the region’s top restaurants and producers.
Chinatown Night Market- October 13th is Chinatown’s Night Market Ye Shi, the streets will be lined with ethnic food trucks and other vendors that patrons can enjoy.
Philly Cheesesteak Fest 2016- Last year Philadelphia hosted its first festival dedicated solely to it’s most popular food. This year, the event kicks off at Citizen’s Bank Park on October 15th with over 50 vendors, live performances, a beer garden and carnival games.
